Christmas Tree Poem by Vera Sidhwa

Christmas Tree

Rating: 4.5

Christmas Tree

It's peak hit the cathedral ceiling
In our living room so bright.
It's red and gold ornaments
Shown so much light.

The presents were scattered
Where the fake snow lay.
The present wrapping
Looked pretty, sparkling and gay.

This Christmas tree belonged to the children
Who drank cider and egg nog.
The sweet drinks with sugar
Reflected the fire from the log.

This pretty fireplace snapped and crackled wide.
It's dancing flames shown orange and yellow light.
The fireplace fire burned happily in the night
While the snowflakes blanketed the ground so white.
