Well, I'm a slice of apple pie
with just a hint of cyanide
and I'm a chipper cheeked alumni from the college of Mr. Hyde
I'm a professional swindler
and part time working cynic
and a Pitbull for a tickler
But my hearts never into it
My rising sign says I'm Taurus
but people say that I'm a cancer
they gossip like an old Greek chorus
but never with a proper answer
my church is a purse, deposit with assets my only real profit is a bill covered green I've got more money than I do regretsenough to fill 50 tubs with red jelly beans
My cars a Camry, shiny and electric
still I drive down roads called angst and dread
living a virtual life, never fully connected
showing joie de vivre but emotionally dead
(but that's the price paid for shallow dreams)
so I've got no aces for the basis of faith
my license for beliefs revoked and out of date
I cultivate taste in a manner full of waste and collect dross charms like a drunken primate
(it's a nice distraction from life's short lease)
But I'm a city boy, who likes his toys
I wear nice clothes, and pretend their gold
with a stiff upper lip, I'm armed and poised
but I'm still just a cousin of an old slime mold
A city boy usually is plagued by an identity crisis! He poses to be someone refined and sophisticated before others, but actually he is somebody else in his inner self. He suffers from a kind of drudgery and he often experiences a sense of lifelessness. A sure 10
My cars a Camry, shiny and electric still I drive down roads called angst and dread living a virtual life, never fully connected showing joie de vivre but emotionally dead I assume that this is a semi humorous and semi serious caricature! Powerful diction and arresting presentation!
Yes, man is a bundle of a lot of emotions, wants and wishes, and what not. Everyone, but may be a city boy more so. Nice reading.
