City of restless souls, here, there of lamentations sounds
Mouths gaping, tongues forked and wagging
By neighing horse sounds interrupted
Sounds of winds on the level plain abounding
Look! From the palace terrace in Medina
They be felt ships by ships abounding
Turbaned Turks, white figures in the dark of night
Eyes goggling from skeleton sockets
Winds that mean change, abounding.
Hard drops of rain, rare occasional hard snow.
