Civilized World Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Civilized World

Rating: 2.8

How often I stand alone in this civilized jungle?
Where devotion is called joke with mean angle
Loyalty for quite few bucks and openly sold
Everything is obtained by showing brightness of gold

How an uniformed man gets dressed up for duty?
His badge on cap, bright shoe shine and everything adds to beauty
What does he think of his almighty when he steps out?
Only security for others and nothing else to talk about

Where is the time to remember and pray for second?
What do the family members ask for and demand?
Nothing of that sort occupies the mind and invades
Duty seems to be super most in mind as if touched by edge of blade

No festivals, no marriage occasion and no funeral
All same when resumed duty hours on arrival?
True protector and saint if you can call
Staunch defender and impregnable wall

Such defenders have no time to repent
Lying down of life if that is heavenly sent
No escape route or offering of any excuses
Danger and bullets never find mention or misses

What can be ultimate goal of brave man?
How can he be tough as well as human?
How to remain non violent and at the same time effective?
We can’t find any answer even if remain subjective

If supreme sacrifice can be called any religion
Let all of us change the method or opinion
Give an important chance to adjust him in crisis
Let us not criticize him by over dose or thesis

If we can understand so the family too
Let us not try any method to woo
Let him remain isolated for our welfare
Allow him to perform perfect duty very fare

He deserved no condemnation
But our sympathy without any question
It may stand irrelevant with any of the relation
But that should be our preparedness with indication

Policeman in street, on road or at cross road
Bears such a responsibility with heavy load
No one hears from his side what has been told
Only we hear with asceticism that he has been sold
