welcome to a past age classical world
where illiteracy was a wide spread
normal vast majority could not read
literacy had a brief luminous lifespan
by age thirty forty deteriorating eyesight
meant even worth weight in gold an elite educated
are also descending into aged illiteracy
limit aged unable to read
in an age without glasses
precision contact lenses
solution was audio books
in this time period papyrus scrolls
read aloud by a literate
reader usually in an alcove
at a great city classical library
so gathered listeners could
hear then later discourse
at length discuss as knowledge
heard spread dispersed
oral communication empowered
many social strata diverse readers listeners
extended accessible information
beyond limits illiteracy age failing failed eyesight
into time lapping extended communal comprehension
festivals plays seasonal also extended communal
experiential collective insights
library alcoves out loud readings
community staged public plays
weaved simplicity from complexity
intricacy whispered wisdom as
collective knowledge in layman's
terms a paradox problem solving apparatus
benefits with united understanding support
for collective community problems solved
