This lady was a famous folk artist
And her name was Clementine
She was born back in the 1800’s
Many pictures of her have been seen

She was born on a plantation
By the name of Hidden Hill
Started painting in her mid 50’s
Paintings that are such a thrill

The lady was illiterate, they say
She could not write her name
But her paintings were of such talent
They brought her well-deserved fame

She was the most famous lady artist
In the state of Louisiana
Teaching herself everything she knew
Oh, such special art work we saw

It’s exciting don’t you think, to find
Talent such as Miss Clementine
Her paintings are popular even today
The wonderful art that we’ve seen!
