Closeness - Poem by Michael P. McParland
I long to share that true closeness
with you my dear love.
To know and feel a true connection
of the soul two becoming one.
When given in true love the purest
form of love there truly is.
I long to share myself with you.
I so deeply need that closeness
I could sometimes scream from
the lonliness I feel and know that
I want to share with you my life.
Everything about me and not just for a night,
but to give my all and have that closeness for all time.
I so long to feel that closeness and
complete the missing part within my soul,
a piece that can only be filled by you.
Holding hands throughout time as we give
ourselves completely in this life and next.
I give you everything because I love you truly
and you simply are the best.
I'll never have or share that closeness with another,
every part of me is for my sacred lady,
I would not dishonor either her or me
by breaking my highest dedicated promise.
I commit to her and will only ever share that closeness.
I love my lady in the deepest way there is,
an all encompassing love that fills my heart and soul.
A love only she can ever understand and
something I will never give another one.
I only long for closeness with my greatest love,
she is the one to whom I belong.
