Coal Shoveled Into Boiler Mouth Hunger Fed Red Poem by Terence George Craddock

Coal Shoveled Into Boiler Mouth Hunger Fed Red

coal no longer
transforms liquid
water into stream
power harnessed

as coal is sweat
rhythm shoveled
into boiler mouth
hunger fed red

boilers coal fed no longer sheets
of fire glow red smoke no longer plumes
pointing out trail in wind stream no longer animates

click clack iron horses
coal dust dirty no longer fouls
smears clothes carriages
