Cobwebs And Darkness Poem by Lex Cullen

Cobwebs And Darkness

Rating: 4.5

What others see-I do not see.
What others feel-I can not return.
They say it's a bright and shiny light.
All I see are cobwebs and darkness.
But even through the bitterness.
You seen compassion.
And like the others you pushed.
Like the others you seemed to care.
But is wasn't long.
The cobwebs were cleared.
And the lights turned on.
You stayed and continued to dig.
Dug pass my lies and found nothing but truth.
I felt like I loved you.
And then you left.
You left for someone else.
You loved them way before me.
When the cobwebs returned.
Soon followed with the darkness.
I was left empty.
Until loneliness engulfed me with its acceptance.

Accepting loneliness is a feat, but worth it. Thanks, Lex

It truly is, an obstacle within life that us humans learn to find a way around.

A metaphorically rich poem with vivid imagery and a wonderful 'story' to tell, which is as haunting as it is beautiful.. Excellent work Britain.. Excellent.. Thank you for sharing this poem with us and welcome to Poemnunter...

Thank you, I love metaphors because they show an image but also a feeling from the heart without going too deep.
