The Heart And Chasm Poem by Lex Cullen

The Heart And Chasm

I take one step deeper
Though no actions of a peeper
I tried to play a game
And now I'm all to blame

Now it's time to run
Trying not to jump the gun
Never again to look behind
Hoping you won't start crying

I promised a lot
But you feel like you've been shot
You believed I was everything
Though there was nothing to gain

I hate myself with pleasure
Trying to take extra measure
So I don't trip and fall
From your beck and call

My dreams are full of suicide
So no sleep, is what I decide
You drove me mad
So much I turned bad

Blinding my view of happiness
Turning me cavernous
My heart none shall see
Because it was destroyed, by your stupid deed
