Colonial Monsters Poem by Adams King

Colonial Monsters

Rating: 5.0

Long I worshipped and served you
on bended knee, bowed head
that sinks humbly into the earth
My submission earned my freedom
yet in freedom you chained me
Your greedy fangs you placed upon
the flag of the African Giants
Of course the green is greener
and your greed becomes greedier
causing the white to turn into blood
Let go of your firm piercing grip
and be a master not a monster
