Colorblind Poem by Sana Olivia Hernandez

Colorblind

In real life,
I feel colorblind.
Both racially,
And literally.

Everything is gray.

Many grays of people,
The ever gray sky,
Grey feelings,
Gray thoughts.

Gray,
Gray,
Gray.

But in my dreams,
Oh! In my dreams!
I see all the colors!

Magenta brothers,
Rosy red sisters,
Dark, jewel toned enemies,
A sapphire, pearl and golden sky,
Sparkly, speckled, brilliant and unique thoughts,
And a bright, abstract, intriguing, colorful world!

I sleep in a gray bed feeling gray feelings,
But know a colorful life awaits in my dreams.

Ahh, my dreams…
