Come On Grandma Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Come On Grandma

Rating: 5.0

Oh Grandma, can I go out and play?
It is a sunny day… not damp with rain
Come on Grandma, you can have fun too
I’m tired of being inside…detained

Look Grandma…you can do this too
Swing high…then let go
With hands extended… fly like me
Why are you shaking your head no?

Come on Grandma climb the tree
With me…I’m a real good climber
Why are you sitting down below?
Is it because your are an old-timer?

Dear Grandson, once upon a time
I did the things that you are doing
But now I find that I am not as nimble
I’ll just watch the joy you are pursuing

Recalling similar daring days
When I was young like you
I was carefree and courageous
Time passed…life took a different view

I’ll share your enthusiasm as an onlooker
Masking my worried feelings of apprehension
When we go back inside we can exercise
Our attention on board game comprehension
