Come With Me Poem by Jac Harper

Come With Me

i am a vessel
twisted and torn
i am a child
unwillingly born

come with me
if you will see
how it feels
not to be free

i am a caged bird
longing for flight
i am bull and matador
both ordered to fight

come with me
if you will see
how it feels
not to be free

i am like a rose
surrounded by thorns
i am alive
so deeply i mourn

come with me
if you will see
how it feels
not to be free

i am a wild animal
not allowed to run
i'm so busy seeking 'perfect'
there is no time for fun

come with me
if you will see
how it feels
not to be free

This is a really good poem Jac. In a socially repressed way, something I can truly relate to.
