Come Young Pirates, a series of adventurous and descriptive sea poems. In this segment, the Captain and his crew while on a mission for the Queen of England, are exploring the ancient Canary Islands. Navaria, ancient name for Tenerife, which means Snow Mountain, one of the Canary Islands. Plain Swift, a medium sized bird with a winged crescent shape which spends most of its time in flight. Tenerife was said to be created in part by shifting African tectonic plates. Mount Teide, a volcanic mountain, the highest point on Tenerife and in Spain. Teno Massif, one of three volcanic formations that gave rise to Tenerife.
