Committing Hate Crimes With Holly Poem by Raj Dronamraju

Committing Hate Crimes With Holly

Committing hate crimes
Fueling night time tries with wacked out good riddance encounters
What seemed fresh and eager but a few hours ago is now crazed and scary

On board, forcibly restrained for the voyage home
Plucked out from the wide and the weird
Told there must be a reason for everything we do

So Holly and I started on a spree that won't end well
And this bad ending will be the only thing of consequence I've ever done
And I've eaten nothing but junk food and my own false bravado today

Keep the face of shock in a locket close to who you are
Bring it out in a hiding place for kindred souls
Branding Holly with motivation, we incite each with blood/iron declarations

Neither of us are dominant and must speak in constant strength
Comparing how we get along with each other to metaphors of strength
And unlike me, she can't punch out walls, can only sneer at what's placed in front of her

The force of our different genders doesn't serve any particular end
The trigger is all anyone cares about not whose finger is upon it
I'm assuming they'll blame this all on me
