Common Man Smiles Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Common Man Smiles

Common man smiles

Hoarders hoarded
Traders traded
All commodities were sky rocketed
The market was uplifted

You look at sky high buildings
New cars on road and moving
Who says there is poverty?
The black money rules economy

The common were forced to eat
The vegetables, pulses at exorbitant rates
Real like living situation
Still no one raised question

Everybody was not ready
To speak about bad weather
And situation on ground
The politicians have really found an opportunity

Now poor believe
That it is difficult to live
With so much of price rise
But this winter has many surprises

The vegetables are plenty
The farmers throw tomatoes on road
The country shall have bumper crop
How the winter can hide the nature's smile and stop?
