Company Of Self Poem by Pen Anthony

Company Of Self

I watched a child play
She seemed to have so much fun
I had fun watching her
How happy she was
Chasing her own shadow

Then she'd turn back
Running in the opposite direction
Now the shadow chased
She'd laugh at it
Teasing it to catch her

This went on
Eating the better part of an hour
As the child chased self
I knew there's more to the
Company of self
