Complains Poem by manaswini dash

Complains

Rating: 5.0

Due to the darkness everywhere
Neither I was able to see you
nor my stretched hand was able to touch you-
in spite of me several efforts.
What a pity!
Are you laughing at my futile activity?
No please- you should not.
Are you not responsible for all these?
Have you not created this darkness around me-
in form of innumerable problems?
When I have solved one problem-
another problem emerged from nowhere-
snatching all my happiness.
As if there is no end to it.
Have I ever asked for it?
I failed to apprehend-
the reason of your grudging reluctance-
to give me things of my choice.
I got irritated in spite of having almost a fulfilled life
and started burning in anguish within.
My unhappiness was reflected-
in my murmuring of endless complains before you.
You smiled as if enjoyed my plight.
Suddenly a sweet song tap my eardrums-
which thrilled me for a while in ecstasy.
A thrilling, enchanting and unforgettable song indeed.
Its lyrics were so touchy that it smeared on my heart.
Must be sang by a lucky person having no problems in life-
So, singing such a nice melodious song immensely praising you
for your love,
for your mercy,
and for all the things that you have given him.
I felt jealous and came out running to see the person.
But I got stunnedlooking at him.
He was a blind and lame beggar
putting a rag on his thin, frail and fragile body.
His belly was horribly drawn inside
and theconspicuous ribs bulged out
like tentacles of an octopus.
Oh! No.
How could he sang such a song praising you-
with a serene smile on his lip?
Tears rolled down from my eyes unhindered
and this time I complained to myself-
why I could not be happy like him.
