Compliments - Poem by Heather Ashley

Compliments are fake
When said from you to me
One day you’ll say, “I love your shirt”
But it won’t matter
Because you’ll hate me
As always
And if I get the nerve, I’ll say to you,
“But you hate me.”
If only I had the heart
To compliment your evil persona
The sarcasm would plague your miniscule mind
Why not just stop the hate?
Why must you waste your time?
