Composure Poem by Esther Hadassah Sendeza

Composure

Rating: 5.0

I used to live like a bird,
So free and so peaceful,
Full of hope and confidence...
Yet confined and such an introvert,
A strong mind and a strong heart.

The bad you meet in life will change you,
It will close you up to the world,
And eat you up.
Bit by bit,
Piece by piece..

So I compose myself,
Yes, Myself is now a 'thing' I must compose.
Like one composes a lullaby,
a speech, or populates an anthem.

Because if I don't,
Damn, I will fall through the cracks.
