Condolences Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Condolences

Condolences

I went to condole her,
On the wall saw pictures,
Scattered in some frames,
Too tacit, well-managed.

Brothers and parents,
Their grandchildren,
Older ones departed!

She is not my sister.
Neither by the parents,
Nor the milk of a breast,
But still, I love her.

I value the sister,
Of the good old friend.

Bough Orchid, white color,
Had it wrapped, too simple,
No need for words to say,
It was some reminder…

Had to go, talk to her,
Tried to comfort her,
Had red eyes in tears.
For mourning brother.

I tried, did, my best,
To convert the subject.

Kept asking some questions,
To change the atmosphere.

Focused on the father,
And later, on the mother.

Verified the pictures,
Of her lost brothers…

She spoke and forgot,
My cause of being there…
