All she heard was your scream.
Though she understood your anger,
And her heart was with you,
All she heard was your scream.
She's delicate, you know,
Still trying to sift out the past
To find that she is important
To someone.
Maybe even you..
Though your dreamy eyes,
Still find it hard to believe
That she is worthy.
All her life,
Just when the dam has been built,
The flood rushes in,
Breaking down all that she has built.
You are her wall now.
She has nothing left to build.
And that, can be broken
In one heartbeat,
By your anger.
She won't punish you,
But she will remember,
As words echo in her head
Like a hailstorm echoes
On a new metal roof.
She knows the pebbles are
Never perfect.
But they can either sing you to sleep
Or keep you awake,
Depending on what
You are stilllearning.
