They say you can only control your own actions
But what happens when a loved one does things you don't like?
How do you learn to tolerate them?

You have these crazy yet lame ideas, yet I find myself letting your actions affect me?

One night you decided to go on a joy ride (pause) to a supermarket. Really?

But what happens when a loved one does things you don't like?
You went to a special place with your friends. But it was our special place.

They say you can only control your own actions
But what happens when a loved one does things you don't like?
I find myself feeling alone and vulnerable, seeking attention wherever I can get it.

They say you can only control your own actions
But what happens when a loved one does things you don't like?
I just wanted someone to talk to, someone that would put me first. At least I got what I felt I needed.

You come back home and that is when you are full of talk
Wondering why am I being distant to you.
When you're the one that treated me that way for those precious few hours.

You say that I do not understand. That something must be wrong with me.
Maybe there is but, that's how I feel.

I control my own actions. You control your own.
I handle my feelings in a way that I believe everyone gets what they deserve.
But they say you should be nice in order to receive nice.
But for this loved one, that is never the case.
Therefore, I will forever hold my silence.
