Copper Loss Poem by Diana van den Berg

Copper Loss

Yet again
an invasion of my privacy
copper pipes wrenched
from my walls
water spurting
all over the place
for hours and hours
no water last night
the inconvenience
of the (ugly polycorp) replacement
a water bill
and a plumbing bill
I could do without
the thieves will be back for the rest
