Cosmos Poem by Ima Ryma

I am called cosmos and do be
A multi colored flower that
Is in sunflower family,
Mexico, native habitat.
But thanks to human travel chain,
I can be found around the world.
In South Africa on high plain,
Widespread be my flowers unfurled.
I got there as imported seed
During time of Anglo Boer War,
Mixed by accident in horse feed.
I just kept sprouting more and more.

Why called cosmos, I am not sure,
Must be universal allure.
