Could It Be - Poem by Shannon Kelly

I love you, spoken so soft and sweet
Almost sickly, it's getting hard to eat

Could it be a masquerade
to hide what now seems to fade

Could it be real
that this is really what you feel

Could it be the mask you wear
acting like you still care

Could it be lost
all the lines that got crossed

Could it be all lies
everynight a little of us dies

Could it be gone
from the perfect picture we had drawn

Could it be tears
that were shed over the years

Could it be torn
never again to be reborn

Could it be the end...
Guess we'll find out when my heart can no longer mend
