Could It Be Her? Poem by Eunice Masumbuko

Could It Be Her?

Could it be her? To be adorned with a circle made of gold?
As she lay there playing with technology,
I budged into her place with super-sonic haste.
The swift turn of her neck exposed her face.
My heart pounded as her innocent eyes connected with mine.
Questions popped in my head like lm brainstorming
Is it true innocence?
Should l commit to memory to certain things?
Concluding not to coz I didn't know her I said hi.

Her reply gave me a perception
Her laugh echoed like it's from the surface of water in a dark cave,
Her big round beautiful eyes complimented her smile
Could it be her? To be adorned with a circle made of gold?

Thoughtful responses she gave
Her diction and eloquence was perfect
It really depicted her intelligence,
Is there anything more attractive than an intelligent woman?
Could it be her? To be adorned with a circle made of gold?

Only God knows the diligence, patience and lotions that were required
To produce such a perfect simulation of nature.
I sat there, lost in her eyes and yet in turmoil.
Do pineapples know that we deem them juicy?
Do they know we crave their yellow?
If she was a doll, she was going to be a perfect one.
Could it be her? , to be adorned with a circle made of gold?
