Countries Rise Fall Built Upon Sum Total Of Shifting Values Poem by Terence George Craddock

Countries Rise Fall Built Upon Sum Total Of Shifting Values

there are people who believe
their country is better stronger
more powerful more beautiful than any other
forgetting empires rise fall
upon strength weaknesses
of people within them
all countries are comprised of people
good bad with shifting fortunes

countries rise or fall built
upon the sum total of shifting values
integrity abilities morality
contained within all people
all individuals within their societies
the fortunes of a country rest

within the hands values
unified will of all citizens within
a country divided upon slippery slopes
injustice intolerance hatred divisions
dice risks a dark fate
a country where all are valued
all are blessed endures prospers
recovers when disasters tragedy strikes

home the land
unified integrity people
are strong resilient
countries people
who virtue prosper
grow together
