Cover Up Rain Poem by Jessica Pumphrey

The rain reflects how I feel today
It's sad not to know if to go or stay
The clouds know not when to let it out
Or when to release their thoughts of doubt
And maybe i'm wrong when I say
I know the rain like it's my mind in a way
But Sky and me, we think alike
We take things into thought
And never stray from the path we're told to stay

The thunder is rolling
The sky is mad
It tells me I have no right to say when it's sad
Maybe i'm wrong about how it feels
Maybe when it rains, it's happy tears
But sky, I might say, i've played this game
Act like everythings fine and ok
Tell them all that i've just had a rough day
And very rarely is that one person who stays
They ask what's wrong and I just wave them away

The lightning strikes
And you still say your fine
You seem annoyed and I can see why
The way you feel, it's just like me
Give it up and let me see
I guess everyone needs at least one good friend
So let me tell you this is not the end
I'll be here to catch your pain
And i'll be the one who choses to stay
So I guess i'll play your game
But know, I won't ever forget your cover up rain
