Dance In This Rain Poem by Jessica Pumphrey

Dance In This Rain

I only like to think about
The water on my face
I only like to watch it fall
At it's own special pace
Maybe tomorrow, it'll decide to stay
Maybe tomorrow, the memory will fade away
But until then, i'll think of today
And in return, I'll get up and dance in it's place

The coolness, it sooths me
The way it sings, moves me
It listens so fully
Letting me scream out what I have to say
Not a soul in the world can hear my pain
But yet these long drizzles listen to me anyway
And in return, i'll get up and dance as I may

When I let the tears fall from my eyes
It washes them away and I let out a sigh
Only you can take me away from the lies
And show me the beautiful side of life
My clothes are all wet
But they don't bother me
For when the rain is done, just as wet they will be
Thank you for giving me this gift
Before the sun shines and the clouds start to shift
And for cleaning my thoughts and washing away my pain
In return, I'll get up and dance in this rain
