Crave Not The Soft Or Loud Applause Poem by Raymond Farrell

Crave Not The Soft Or Loud Applause

Crave not the soft or loud applause
That passes in a fleeting moment of time
It means nothing to one engaged in a righteous cause
Bent on making a true difference.

Do not set your course to simply please
But line your compass up with truth
Evil is something to shun and not appease
Forsake compromise though it be favored by most.

Do not crave money and material things
For such cravings inevitably will lead
Down a path that misery brings
From which wealth can offer no relief.

Rise in the morning intent on helping where you can
Try with the help of Almighty God
To be of use to your fellow man
And do so without seeking a reward.
