Creation Speaks Into Indigenous Aztec Hearts Poem by Terence George Craddock

Creation Speaks Into Indigenous Aztec Hearts

the sweet of the sun gold the Aztecs valued
far above gold prized the Aztecs adored
loved species birds brightly colored feathers

a conspicuous display of wealth to wear
elaborate cloaks headdresses made from feathers
preferably sacred quetzals hummingbirds

gold graving Spanish could not see paradise
beauty in vast species bird feather varieties
creation speaks in appreciating bird feathers

creating not a sunbird creating worn rainbow
creating prized sacred quetzals hummingbirds
paradise fashion clothed in dazzling feathers

beauty flashing eye popping stunning disappears
