Creature Poem by Rachel Brewer

Creature

I saw you creeping around my house,
Being so quiet, like a mouse.
I wonder what you could be thinking,
I can’t think, I feel like sinking,
Into the ground so you can’t find me,
I wonder if you are a he or a she?
I want to know your name and face,
I want you to please, leave this place.
I want you to go far away from me,
Further away than the eye can see.
Please dear God, make this creature disappear,
I really doubt God will hear.
I don’t think he’s listening, and even if he was,
I’m sure he has better things to do because,
He’s the creator of our world and needs to protect everyone,
So who cares, if the person outside my house wants to have a little fun?
