Credit Card Poem by Colette Dright

Credit Card

Sometimes I'm lost in all this commotion in the world
I am very important
I am meaningful and thought about daily
And I don't like to be denied
I am found
I am worthy
Even though I am a substitute, I am very dependable

I've been here, there, everywhere
I've been cut, used and abused
I've been placed in and pulled out of situations
That have made people sad and glad

I don't mean to embarrass you during the times I am exposed
Yes, my innocence has been stolen by people
Who try and take advantage of me because I carry a lot of weight

At times I am fussed over when I just really try to bring happiness
But all in all, I am loved

I am... a credit card
