There are some quaint old adages,
I can't quite understand.
Some seem quite insightful,
and some seem poorly planned.
There is one that comes to mind,
I hear from time to time,
and in the heart of what it says,
an error I can find.
There is no question to decide,
no fence I need to straddle.
For it's up the creek I'd rather be,
than down without a paddle.
