Cricket Song Poem by Juan Olivarez

Cricket Song

Chirp away little cricket,
Behind the potted plant.
That geranium's a thicket,
But stop your song it can't.

Go ahead and sing away,
All is right it seems.
Constantly singing night and day,
Building up your self esteem.

If you're quiet then I know,
something wrong is going on.
Something must have stopped the flow,
And your voice has up and gone.

So sing away little cricket crooner,
Send your melody my way.
If I had only heard you sooner,
I would have been here every day.
