Cry More Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Cry More

Cry more

Countrymen cry more
The onion has become costlier
The housewives look helplessly at onion
One time considered as jewel and looked upon

We need not criticize
If there is force
Adverse to our weather condition
Bringing about failure of onion crop

Let us stand for cause
If that has no purpose
Let government work in reasonable way
We need not drag our feet away

We have seen government employees
Standing for onion in queues
That too in office hours
The poor always remain sufferers

The politicians miss no opportunities
It only adds miseries
We make hue and cry over accidents, earthquakes
But fail to notice the efforts made by public servants

Let us pray that monsoon is success
Many areas are still under duress
They have not witnessed any rainfall
The farmers are looking at sky and soil
