Crying Out To Them Poem by Edward Kofi Louis

Crying Out To Them

You are polluted with your gifts!
As you offer sacrifices to all the big trees in the forest;
In the name of your culture and in the name of the gods and goddesses of the land.

Defiled!
With the works of the customs on this land;
In rthe forests and in the fields,
being servants of the gods and goddesses.

Life,
One's love and, one's care is like the muse of a bird that sings so loud!
But, today, your arms are stretched out to the gods and the godddesses of the land,
Crying out to them everyday to save you
