Cupid's Moon Eclipsed Poem by Brett White

Cupid's Moon Eclipsed

I told you I'd write you poetry no more,
But of 7.7 billion there's only one I adore.
She sparkles like tiara'd rubies in the sun,
And away I was torn before I had even begun,
To quietly express the love in my heart.
Without you, honest tears from my soul depart,
Burning my cheeks with their ceaseless flow.
While I age, my memories of you alone glow,
Like the Moon on a sad Valentine's night;
I have fallen, but I rise for you, full of fight.
Because nothing priceless comes from surrender,
My words, henceforth, for you are always tender.
And the reddened splinter stings so badly,
Leaving, aeternum, a heart-shaped scar I caress sadly.
Babies are born, like St James's vapors, then pass.
You are pure beauty wedded to the highest class.
Every dream without you is a slumber wasted,
Your kiss is the holiest of God's essence tasted.
Your eyes are more entrancing than green comets,
A second with you exceeds all my joyous moments.
A day without you is lacking in color,
Its worth akin to a Knight without valour.
Love I have known, and love have I lost,
Now I sail alone, in a sea of longing tossed...
Sailing forever into the lethal siren's rocks,
Embracing Death, as at my door, He knocks.
Your Spirit exceeds all the world's jewels,
Your wit surpasses the wisdom of Ivy League schools.
And thundering silence fills me where angels once sung,
Thank you for your kindness, yea, the lowest rung
On your Heart's ladder is cherished more than you know.
Without you in my arms, life becomes hollow.
However, full of love for you, I'll always be.
And should the sun fail to rise for all humanity,
Just know the winds forever may cease to blow,
But my heart with love for you alone, throughout Eternity will grow.

Tell the one you love, the depth of your love today, for tomorrow you may not be able.

Once again, I stand amazed at your ability to maintain the rhyme scheme for such a L-O-N-G poem! This poem puts me in mind of feelings I held for my precious fiance' Ed, who died of cancer before we could marry. It was like being at a banqueting table, and barely having time to sample the canapes and hors d'oeuvres, before being dragged from the room without ever having tasted the main course! Yes, I can relate. Thank you Brett for sharing from the heart!

The title is so interesting that calling me to read it, and reading it i think lot of artistic, poetic lines that really represented by the title, i mean that is a cool poem of how emotion can craft can order art to grow on a paper. A well done work! , and nice advice/reminder at the end...
