Curse Of Chains Poem by Tui Jameson

Curse Of Chains

Rating: 5.0

Entrapped by chains from my past
An accident has left me broken
has also given me a curse

I sit down
to hear the sounds
of an evening park.
The sounds of laughter
The sounds of cheering
The sounds of children
celebrating their joyess race
as they bask in natures grace.

I look out
to see the sight
of children running
through the light
I smile with delight
Desperately wanting
to join their flight

But Alas
it is no use
these chains will never come loose
Don't get me me wrong
I will never tie a noose

But one day I will break the chains
and defy my curse
I will laugh
I will cheer
I will win there joyess race.

But for now
I must wait
for the date
when I have the strength
to conquer my curse

I will raise above the rest
I will forget my chains
and defeat the best
No one will ever remember
the young man sitting down
watching from the crowd.
