'Cutting Away My Thread' Poem by Linda Winchell

'Cutting Away My Thread'

I am cutting away this thread that I’m on
For it constant threat of being clipped.
I was wasting precious time of God I had
Tangling with others, ” with that’s and with this.

Didn’t want to become entangled
In a war of words you see.
Of someone who had heard this
And others that are convinced and obscured over me.

God told me to GO and say
And to Go and say again if need be.
It wasn’t my words spoken here
It had nothing to do with me.

So I bid-ed all a, ”Fair-thee- well”
And time now marches gleefully on.
Not dangling from that thread for others only wanting
To stir up dirt in another’s pond.
