'The time to enjoy life is now, '
Said Billy the goat to Daisy the cow,
'Go and see something new,
You must be tired of this old view.'
So Daisy waved goodbye to Billy,
Wearing a dandelion hat that looked rather silly.
She danced a jig down the farmer's lane,
A grumpy pig said, 'That cow's insane.'
She tapped her way past his patch of mud,
Thinking, 'There's more to life than chewing the cud.'
From a very young age,
She'd dreamt of dancing on stage,
So she headed straight to the town theatre,
Where the owner agreed to meet her.
He said, 'You look so alive.
I've never seen your sort of jive.
I'll pay you tasty flowers for a wage,
As long as you perform upon my stage.'
People had never seen hooves move with such grace,
There was awe and amazement on every face.
No-one else could spin on one leg,
Whilst juggling a melon, a banana and an egg.
Til the end of her days,
She left people in a... daze.
How glad she was to have listened to Billy,
To have stayed where she was would have been rather silly.
So when you're afraid of acting crazy,
Just remember this story of wise old Daisy.

What an interesting account of the adventure and daring of Daisy the cow! This is not just an absorbing fable of Billy the goat and Daisy the cow, but an excellent reminder that each moment is to be lived and enjoyed! Really I partook in the jig....! While reading this poem, I felt that I was watching a live performance that matched with the description; Till the end of her days, She left people in a... daze......................................! Lovely poem Stephen!
Thank you Valsa. Days and daze is such a bad rhyme I couldn't help but laugh and had to include it.
