Dandelion Fuzz Poem by Cassie Cooper

Dandelion Fuzz

there's a humming in the air you can
almost taste it
summer
under your tongue, not too sweet
more of a bittersweet, actually
a longing, a lofty ideal
ah, summer, you say
perfect beyond measure
like the girl or boy of your dreams
flawless until
you know them and then their
flaws scream at you in angry
red paint
but hey, this isn't serious
it's just summer
no
big
deal
so why are you upset?
i wasn't trying to point fingers or
call out character i was just
humming an empty little tune and
skipping down the scorching asphalt with
a bunch of dandelions clenched in my fist
their blossoms warmer than the
sun.

wow~! This is impressive. At first I thought it was another happy go lucky nature poem and then it jumps out at you! lol Well written - the form and the bit of rhyming there is worked perfectly.
