King Darius of Persia did
Order that no prayer be said.
Those not doing what the King bid
Would to the royal lions be fed.
Daniel, a fav'rite of the King,
Continued to pray to his God,
And doing this forbidden thing
Was ordered to be lion jawed
By the saddened King with no choice.
In the lion den for a day
An unharmed Daniel did give voice,
And to his God, Daniel did pray.
God sent angels to serve God's laws.
The angels closed the lions' jaws.
