Dark Desperation Poem by Steve Coetzee

Dark Desperation

Rating: 5.0

Dark desperation
seething within,
demons locked
inside my head.

Noises of life,
unendurable.
Journey through life,
oh so wearying.

Thoughts churning
in on themselves,
endless questions
no answers found.

Standing on the edge
getting ready to leap.
Spiraling downward
down to the dark abyss.

Shouldering the burden
of another dreadful day,
curséd hounds of hell
snapping at my heels.

Asking once again
how did it come to this,
winging through life
on one broken wing?

Your insight into the ugly nature of depression is impressive, and your power of expression great. An insightful creation written with conviction. Thanks for sharing, Steve.
