Dark Times Poem by Onuora ilodibe

Dark Times

Loa nights without moonlight
Such a days without sunshine
Morgues swell insidious blight
Curfew in the streets outside

Owls toots in the darkest hour
Heavens pour bloody showers
Earth dwell in unending feuds
Rivalry rumble to wield power

For rabid and selfish reasons
A dog feeds on its Frail puppy
Men relish ungodly company
A rustic tonic awake masses

To peril that unveils gradually
Of the dark path we wallowing
Chaffs sift away by winnowing
Good and evil path not to pally

But evil has taken a deep root
Sinful ways as sweet as citrus
People take pride in lewdness
Seek you the ways of upright

In this dark times trust is gone
And truth has no place to nook
So it was written in God's book
Surely for this day must come

Hate will swallow men's soul
Diseases will plague the earth
Quakes storms toll with death
But with godly men all is well
