I don’t know who you are anymore
Though woven from the same cloth, our fabrics no longer match
And though our eyes are both brown
Yours are so much darker than I ever remembered
The buttons are missing from your plaid and paisley and polka dots
And I cannot find them anywhere around us
Among the scattered memories and fractured vase that we once were
And my arm is simply too tired to grab the glue from the shelf
I don’t know if I care that we are broken because it’s hard to fix
Something so unfamiliar and confusing and vacant and untrustworthy
And though our eyes are both brown
Yours are so much darker than I ever remembered
