Darkest Poem by Lance Carthen

Darkest

In the darkest dream, I see, I blindly followed you.

There was something inside I couldnt see.

In the coldest tomb, I see, a future portrait of me.

I am somewhere, I never wanted to be.

What is beautiful, can be a sin that will never be forgiven.

What becomes the first taste you cant get off of your tongue.

In the deepest sea, I see, the creature slowly rising.

Humanities darkness, led it to the surface.

What you hate to love, you love to hate.

Count the wrinkles upon your face.

If the darkest of dream comes the truth.

No one will bother to try to save you.

There was something inside I couldnt see...
