Darling Of Mine Poem by Gert Strydom

Darling of mine,
this morning I wanted
to put something in my words
to say that I feel that you do not
regard me as a human being
and how it looks at times,
that I as a man
stand alone without humanity
in our relationship.

At times it feels as if I
alone have to struggle
in life
and you say things and take decisions,
without granting me an option
while I stand central in it all
and the influence of it
has a direct impact on my life.

When at times you want to know
what I think,
I wonder if rebellion
and temper tantrums
are hiding beneath the surface
and what I really have to say
and how I can lay regard, respect
and love in your heart
but maybe life plays its game
while I am picking up the pieces
of our relationship and my life.
